Directions to Lough Belshade, Co. DonegalMap ref: sheet 11 campsite at G982895 To get your car to the parking place, drive from Derry to Letterkenny and follow the road to Stranorlar/Ballybofey. Head for Donegal Town and you'll drive through Barnesmore Gap, take a right fork before a bridge. This road leads to L. Eske. After about 3km turn right onto the road that skirts the East side of L. Eske. At the North of the Lough there is a horrible bend in the road and a wooden "walker" points up a narrow road, which you follow to a small farmyard where cars can be left. Park to the North of Lough Eske at map ref G974870. Follow the path and then the river, which takes you on an obvious bend to the left about 1km above the waterfall. You'll end up at the Lough. |
