Frankie McCloskey Climbs at Brazil RockHere's a report on Sunday's outing. Myself and wee Joe Hill went down to Brazil rock and climbed a route or two, (one, I think). Then Martin and Colleen Maguigan arrived and Martin Started the day by soloing Broadbinsblaadeeblaa, the big corner severe to get some gear out. Then Colleen led the same route-her first route of the year! Martin led and Colleen seconded Zanzibar, a mean oul route up the main corner through the eye of the needle. It was a bit of a siege, but they made it. Then myself and Colleen had a go at Bunratti Pillar, the slightly overhanging route with the traverse that was originally climbed by Arnold Swartzenegger and graded VS 4c. ha ha! Then Martin just had to have a go at it, as well, so up he went like a mountain goat. We footered about then, for another while and I gae Martin and Colleen a guided tour of all the recently climbed new routes. We then adjourned to the Culdaff Arms for a yarn. And they all lived happily ever after, begob, sor. Slan go foill, Frankie. [Picture of The Hustler at Bunagee] [Picture of Kerry Widow] |
