Mountains in China
Colmcille Climbers
Club received the following
message from China. We don't normally stick ads on the site (not for nuttin'
anyhow), but the photos that came with this one were suitably beautiful and
politely small in terms of file size. Have a look.

"We would like to take this
opportunity to bring to your attention the development of an exciting new
climbing centre in the travel Mecca of Yangshuo, China. The Yangshuo Mountain
Retreat (YSMR), surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of Yangshuos
limestone peaks and pastures, offers a backdrop that brings visitors both
inspiration and relaxation. After the hustle and bustle of big-city China,
guests of the retreat will enjoy a blend of countryside hospitality and modern
convenience. Our goal is to provide foreigners and Chinese alike with a truly
unique experience.
"The YSMR is designed to be
a multi-purpose facility and is an ideal location for patron of all stripes.
Our traditional facilities occupy over an acre of rice terraces and can accommodate
40 people in 16 guestrooms, perfect for corporate teambuilding and group adventures.
With private balconies offering river and mountain views, the serenity and
natural beauty of the surrounding countryside also make this a superb place
for romantic getaways and family vacations. Complete Chinese and Western dining
coupled with a cosy bar ensures that all the comforts of the city are never
far away in this rural oasis.
"As an official training centre
of the Chinese Mountaineering Association, the YSMR provides a haven for climbers
travelling in China. We offer professional rock climbing training and tours
of the best climbing in China, all within minutes of the retreat. Beyond great
climbing, the YSMR is also a certified hotel under the Yangshuo County Tourism
Bureau. This allows us to ensure that our guests have access to licensed and
qualified guides for hiking, cycling, caving and village tours.
"The Yangshuo Mountain Retreat
is a new establishment and we are very excited about getting the word out.
We feel that we have something very special to offer both travelers in and
residents of this great country. Thus, we take this opportunity to extend
an invitation to climbers and outdoor enthusiasts everywhere to come and experience
what we have to offer."
