15th and 16th April 2000

Okay, here's what the E-men (and ladies) got up to this weekend!

On Friday morning Stewpot (Colmcille Climbers very own Ben Moon!) and myself went bouldering at Rubinid (probably spelt that wrong) Point. This is a bouldering crag near Culdaff, originally discovered by Al Millar, which Stu is now developing.A few new and old problems were done, though Stu's infamous 7a project (it's really only about 6b,but try telling him that!) is yet to be completed.

On Saturday Frasier, Stu and myself went to Dunmore head, where a number of routes were done between showers.Frasier led Orange Blossom HS 4b and Absent Friends, severe. Stu led Shining Cossacks HVS 5a, his first HVS, but only after Frasier and I threatened to leave him on the route if he didn't finish it! I soloed absent friends, severe, and absent friends V, also severe (who the f*** graded that severe anyway?!) and narrowly missed out on an ascent of 10cc (possibly the world's hardest E1!), when I turned into a big girl's blouse 2 moves from the top! Laugh while you can, I'll get it the next time!!

On Sunday the E-men were joined by group of rogue Colmcille Climber's who shall remain nameless!

A scheduled trip to Barnsmore Gap was thwarted by the rain, so the afternoon was spent in Biddy O'Barnes were good craic was had by all (especially the barman who appeared to be making up the prices out of his head!).

Rodders.
