December 18, 2001 Columba McLaughlin

LogEntry: Well the wet and durtys are on again. On Sunday 25th November 2001, while the rest (or some) of the CCC were away up to their eyes in glorious sunshine, Noel and meself were sobering up in Dublin. So we decided on a walk in Glendalough. Some place it was too. Pity about the downpour. No gear, as it was all in the boot and Noel even left his bogman's friend behind. Up we went over the vertical grassy bits to the base of the climbing walls. You think the walk up to the Crag on Barnesmore is steep, you ain't seen nothing yet. We had a brilliant but drizzly view of the magnificant 'Sarcophagus'. Then it was up the almost verical grass banks on the left hand side of the left hand crag. By now this resembled a waterfall. Eventually we reached the top of Camadery. The view was fore-shortened because of the rain. I suggested that Noel should get the fags out. However, he remined me that we were both off them for 3 months. So we had our snacks instead and went down a brilliant gully and scattered the wild deer, sheep and the goats. Never mind the camera, where was the gun? Anyway, it was a definite wet and durty.

Fóill go hiccup, Columba.
