Reports from Al Millar in France and the
Alps. June 2002
[I'm afraid I don't know what order these are supposed to be in. Sorry] Greetings from Allenmatt in Switzerland on a ming raining day We spent four days in a place callled Allefroide East of Grenoble and climbed three long routes two of which on the palavar wall overlooking the village were brilliant. 350m Long granite slab climbing on bolts in the hottest conditions for twenty years with our feet swealling inside our boots. Then we decided to go to Switzerland and its raining with visibility down to 100feet and are town bound. We are in the Yuri Alps south of Zurich (as recommended by Geoff) but as we have done no climbing yet I cannot tell if he is right. Greetings from Grenoble. On our way to Haute des Alps after five days bouldering at fontenbleau. Brilliant place, for all ages and grades, loads of venues. There are even childrens bouldering circuts. We are slowly making our way towards Chamoneaux to meet up with the others next week. I sent a report through the website but I don, know if it made it; so this is another; weather better than at home and so are the baguettes. Last day in Switzerland Andermatt village in the Yuri Alps Aftre the weather improved got some great long slabs in. 330 m high and not even going half way up the crag. Brrilliant, but today we rapped of a route because Dave was feeling ill. Tomorrow we head towards Chamonoux and will hopefully meet up with Cyclone and then donna and Marty early next week.
