Alan Tees in Scotland August 2002

Mixed climbing & Munroe Baggin' trip comprising Bonnie Pailing, Maggs (Tees), Andrew & Alan Tees.

Day 1. Backpacked thro' Glen Slugain 2.5 hours to camp at foot of Ben A Bhuird. Attacked by midges, tried covering up & smoking cigars. Didn't work.

Day 2. Munroists set off for Munroes, while climbers squared up to Squareface [see report from Donna], but he didnt show! Thick mist & drizzle. Back over Ben A Bhuird. Camped. Fierce midge attack. Tried chemical weapons, didn't work.

Day 3.Walked out of camp, & back into Derry Lodge. Camped. Ferocious midge attack. Tried total immersion in stream. Didnt work.

Day 4. To Coire Etchagean & clinbed Pikestaff, excellent 5 pitch V.Diff in the sun. M.& B. did Macdui & Carn Something. Camped. Saturation attack by combined Cairngorm divisions, Royal Deeside, Black Watch, Reinforced with Argylls etc etc. Tried setting fire to each other. Didnt work.

Day 5. Homewards(scratching). Had a great time.
