Curved Ridge on Buchaille Etive Mor

Climbing report: Saturday 26-01-02

Craig Milen & myself climbed the curved ridge on Buchaille Etive Mor in Glen Coe. The condition on the approach and beginning of the climb were lean and a little wet but gradually improved as height was gained. Snow started to fall quite heavily just before the crux, (we were having to clear the ledges to find handholds & axe placements). Therefore we decided to pitch this section where as previously we had been moving tegother Alpine style. The fresh snow made the last section of the ridge a cautious affair and the slope to the summit a real slog. Summit reached before 16:30.
