Lough Barra Sat 11th May 2002. Report by _Psyclone [ClickHere for his page]

Myself, Pat "Larry" Greene, the brothers Millar, Donna, Geoff and his better half, Helen, arrived in Lough Barra a little after noon. Pat arrived with his usual pulling "Brogs" in case he met some mountain bint on the approach. You never know, He might pull on an approach one day!!. Helen fancied a stroll around Slieve Snacht, while I geared up with Pat; Al with Donna; and Geoff with Dave. Myself and Pat were to do Tarquin's Groove and I'm not sure what everyone else done... I took the pointy end for all the pitches on Tarquin's groove 'cos I'm dead hard and pat humped the pack with the shoes. And moaned. Lots. We moved at a snails pace all day and relaxed and took the magnificent view in regularly. We must have spent 20 minutes on both the last belay and the holly tree belay. With the climb over we rapped down the square cut gully and arrived around 10 minutes after Donna and Al. Is that good timing or what?!? Afterwards a couple of pints were had in Ghleann Ceo AKA Doochary, me and Pat had to get home. Luckily a serial killer stopped for us and gave us a lift into Dungloe where we met Pat's mother.
