How else was I supposed to categorise these pictures?

Where did you get that hat Bill?

Bill Magowan in his yak herder's hat.

It's not true that he won it in a fight with a yak herder; nor that it was the losing end of a bet on a Himalayan-style 3-card trick. In actual fact (and the yak told me this in person) Bill was told that it made him look younger and he hasn't taken it off since.

And who could argue? He doesn't look a day over 57 in this picture.

And here's another youngster: this owl is 79 years old - in human terms that's 81½, and doesn't he look good? Now Bill knows what he should do to look young....sit on Marty's shoulder. But if he wants to look as wise as this old owl, well, that's another story altogether.
Ah yes. Taken by me I'm afraid. Well, other people seem to pull off this arty-pharty photography so I tried. Um...I might have to work on my technique. Anyway, this is the noble Frankie McCloskey making a first ascent of a boulder problem on a granite rock near Burtonport. Luckily for me he didn't fall - otherwise the photo may have been even less artistic.
A more conventional view of the same position. Frankie must have been thinking for long enough for me to get both pics, but the move was harder than it looks in this shot.
