Crummies Bay (in lieu of Mintiagh)

The club outing for Wednesday 24th May was supposed to be to the Mintiagh at Barnanmore. Unfortunately, only two people turned up at the lay-by, Alan Tees and Donna Ryan. In view of the fact that Alan still needed to get to Crummies in order to log the routes and take photos for the guidebook, the venue was changed. (There was no-one there to argue, was there?) As things worked out, they climbed a few nice routes (I'm sure a report will follow). Alan also spotted some good potential for the e-men on the left hand crag. It does seem a shame, though, that all the people who agreed to a scheduled mid-week climbing evening, can't be bothered to come along. The agreed purpose of having evening meetings was to allow everyone to join in. Part of that involves experienced climbers helping beginners to find their way. We all started off as beginners and encouraging them will help sustain the sport in this area. Please try to support the club get-togethers or the club will just go back where it came from. |
