Dunmore Head (again). 16th August 2000.

Pete Smith Here we go again! No-one else is providing a report, so I have a choice - I write it, or it doesn't get done!

We were scheduled for a visit to Crockanafirrin, but the short evenings and lack of quality climbing led to a reschedulement (is there such a word?). Then the rescheduled meet at Galavoir Point (crag X) was ditched due to the hammering rain. As we were already in Culdaff, we decided to try to get a few lines done at Dunmore Head whenever the rain stopped. That, by a convoluted route, was how we came to be doing SRS Slab, again.

There were Alan Tees, Seamus Gallagher, Stephanie, Isabelle, Chris Ryan and me. I led the aforementioned SRS Slab VD as the last of the flood trickled down it. Alan led Absent Friends VD in similarly soaking conditions. We brought up all the others and taught three of them to abseil for their first time ever. Then I led Orange Blossom HS, and Alan led Cheatin' Bitch HS; by this time the rock was dry in patches (small patches).

When all the abseils were completed, it started to rain again, so we headed off for McGrory's to the pleasures of a pint of Guinness and a crowd of teeny-boppers, half-dressed and three-quarters drunk (them, not us).
