CLIMBERS

6th September 2000. Dunmore Head.

Pete Smith Michael McGinty, Alan Tees, Andy Tees, Chris Ryan, Brian Martin, Zoe Stephenson [pic] and I went to Dunmore Head. The weather had been looking good all day, but we drove through some heavy showers on the way to the crag.

I psyched myself up to lead Master of Puppets HVS 5b, but couldn't quite pull through the crux move despite getting two hands above the overhang. Michael joined me on the ledge just in time for a torrential shower which left water running down our route. There was no way of getting up it in that condition, so he scooted up Diversion and brought me and Brian up after him.

Chris led Absent Friends VD, which is his hardest lead to date seeing as this v. diff is harder than the other v. diff, SRS Slab (work that out). Brian led Bluebell D, which was his first lead since about 1973, congratters to him.

Michael led Beanbob VS and Zoe and I followed him up it. Andy led Orange Blossom HS, using protection as if certain I wouldn't give it back to him.

Michael and Zoe did Bird's Nest Bulge. So did Alan and Andy. Then we all went for a beer.
