Frankie and Raymond Climbing Fairhead

Saturday 15th April 2000.

Me and Raymond Gallagher went to Fair Head. I picked him up as his home in Portstewart and we drove out from there. We started off with Taoiseach VS 4c,4c but it was feckin freezin' so we stopped for a cup of tea. There was another pair climbing behind us but they had a bit of sense and went home. Not me and our Raymond though. Us mad bastoods went over to the Grey Man's Path, intending to do Orange Blossom Special, the 4a first pitch of which I thought Raymond might have been able to lead, but it was a bawgin, loose offwidth so we retreated out of that.

We then tried Sreang Scuab but the first pitch of this is dangerously loose so we retreated again. This climb needs a demolition job done on it before somebody gets killed. By this stage we were getting ready for climbing again so we went and did December VS 4c,4c. This has to be the best VS 4c in Fair Head, bar none.' Hurry up there now Raymond I'm feckin freezin up here'. We went back for a feed in Portstewart then and Raymond came with me to Derry and we went to the Castle bar for a jar and a yarn.
