8th April 2000. Sally Cook, Pete Smith, Alan Tees, Bill LeClerc-Gigot, Colleen McGuigan, Mary McGuigan, Martin McGuigan and Donna Ryan went to Bunagee, Culdaff.

Bill achieved a first ascent of Polecat Retreat VS 4c. This route has been there millions of years, but not in its present form. The volume of material removed during cleaning was 732 cubic metres, weighing 452 tonnes. Was it worth the effort? You should have seen Bill's face, you wouldn't be asking the question.

Martin downgraded the 3 star "Boggin' up till me oxters Sor" from VS 4c to VS 4b. That should cause a stir! Only teasing, Martin; when Frankie and I did the route we thought it was HVS, it takes a good climber to keep us on our feet.

Alan sought grade verifications for Carthage and Rumdoodle; both went at about severe (but, then, a lot of his routes do).

Please feel free to add more..........

Pete Smith
