Magill hits the Lakes 6th January 2001
I had a brilliant weekend in the Lakes. Went up onto Langdale Pikes in the best of conditions, cloud and wind that bent my walking poles when I used them for balance (I know... puffy things anyway). The two nights I was camping I was in bed by 9.00pm each night. On Sunday I spoiled myself and purrrr-chased a set of Charlet Mosier ice axes and a set of gloves to die for. It's not over yet.... then I headed back to Yorkshire and went bouldering on the Cow 'n' Calf and then onto Almscliff. I must say that I will not be buying a bouldering mat, what's the point?.... People who know not how to tie knots and have a fear of highs. |
